History was made at the 2025 World Server Throwing Association Spanish Qualifier (WSTASQ), as MSP GLOBAL hosted a tournament that changed everything you thought you knew about the state of Server Throwing.
Records were broken.
Heroes arose.
Dreams came true.
Legends were born.
Servers were destroyed.

Also, an interesting phenomenon emerged: at the 2025 Spanish Qualifier, the women outthrew the men! While the servers used in the Men’s category are slightly heavier, the form factor of the Women’s servers makes them harder to hold.
The Women’s record was destroyed (along with the server) by Diana Van Lueck from ECHO-eG. It was like she knew what was about to happen the moment the server left her gloved hands—like in action movies when they walk away from an explosion without looking back at it. (These servers don’t explode, though: they crack, bend, and shatter.)
WSTASQ 2025 Podium
The crowd witnessed an exciting redemption story in the Server Throwing Arena during the Men’s tournament as well. Last year’s second-place finisher Kieron Moore from Acronis managed to out-throw the seemingly-unstoppable Dierk “The Machine” Zeinecke from GOODLog. It was exactly like something out of a Jean-Claude Van Damme movie, except Kieron didn’t do the splits: he didn’t want to show off.
Here are the top three finishers in both the Women’s and Men’s Divisions of the 2025 World Server Throwing Association Spanish Qualifier. This will almost certainly show up on a pub trivia question somewhere, so commit it to memory.
Women’s Division
- 1st Place: Diana Van Lueck (ECHO-eG) 11.92m World Record
- 2nd Place: Nadia Martinez (Full-stack developer) 11.80m
- 3rd Place: Nikola Mozolova (BRAIN:IT) 11.10m
Men’s Division
- 1st Place: Kieron Moore (Acronis) 10.6m
- 2nd Place: Dierk Zeinecke (GOODLog) 9.65m
- 3rd Place: Norberto Reis (QuietFly) 9.25m
Those on the podium have automatic entry to the World Server Throwing Championship (WSTC) at CloudFest 2026, where anything can happen—and it often does. Since Dierk is part of the CloudFest logistics team, he would be there anyawan—maybe just pop out of nowhere to seek server-throwing revenge! I love the idea of this rivalry going on for years—Kieron training in an abandoned barn in the English countryside, while Dierk bench-presses shipping containers along the Rhine.
The Rules of the Game
The rules of Server Throwing are easy: each thrower has two attempts, and the furthest result is recorded.
Part of a Larger Celebration
Fortunately there were no issues with crowd control during the tournament (“server throwing hooligans” aren’t a thing yet), largely because the cold drinks kept flowing on such a warm evening. Shortly after the tournament concluded, the audience was met by a Mariachi band, which led them on a procession to Far West, deep in PortAventura theme park, for the ConneXion Party, brought to us by Acronis. There are no early evenings at MSP GLOBAL!
A huge thank you to Ynvolve, who helps bring this sport to the mainstream (and maybe the Olympics one day), and Comet for helping to power the Spanish Qualifier. Next, get yourself to CloudFest 2026 so you don’t miss the WSTC!
